Kerry Cawte
BA (Hons), PG DIp CYP IAPT
Clinical Team
Kerry is an experienced and compassionate practitioner specialising in supporting children, young people, and families through emotional, behavioural, and developmental challenges. Her work is grounded in an attachment-informed, trauma-sensitive, and neurodiversity-affirming approach, ensuring that each individual feels understood, safe, and supported.
She brings a strong foundation in education, with a background in primary school teaching, which informs her understanding of child development, learning needs, and the importance of early intervention. Alongside her clinical work, Kerry currently delivers training at university level to Mental Health Support Teams (MHST), equipping practitioners with the knowledge and strategies needed to support children and young people effectively within educational settings.
As part of her professional practice, Kerry delivers evidence-based therapeutic interventions and tailored support programmes, including work around emotional dysregulation, anxiety, low mood and family dynamics. She provides both individual and group interventions, working directly with children, young people, and caregivers to strengthen emotional wellbeing, resilience, and positive relationships.
Kerry’s approach integrates psychoeducation, practical strategies, and therapeutic techniques such as Drawing and Talking Therapy and other attachment-based interventions. She aims to empower families and caregivers with the tools and understanding needed to support long-term positive change, communication, and development.
Alongside therapeutic work, Kerry also offers professional consultancy, training, and advisory services to education settings and organisations. This includes supporting staff development, enhancing understanding of behaviour and mental health, and implementing effective strategies to improve outcomes for children and young people.
