Julie Ho

BSc (Hons), MRCSLT,

Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

Julie is an HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapist, specialising in Autism, with 10 years of experience working clinically with neurodivergent children and young people, ranging from an independent Specialist educational and residential setting to the NHS inpatient Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) units. She currently works in a CAMHS Autism assessment team and is qualified to carry out ADOS-2 assessment as part of the Autism diagnostic process.

Her previous experience includes working in independent Specialist education and residential setting, as the sole Speech and Language Therapist in a multidisciplinary therapy team. Julie has experience of conducting Speech and Language assessments; delivering therapeutic interventions (individual and groups), and reviewing and updating Education, Health, Care Plans (EHCP) to reflect communication, social and emotional needs.

Julie is familiar with mental health conditions through her career in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). She has worked closely with mental health professionals in CAMHS inpatient services, facilitating families’ and professionals’ understanding of the communication abilities of young people. She also endeavoured to support the young peoples’ access to education and therapies.

Julie works with children ranging from early childhood to adults (aged 18). She feels privileged to be able to be part of a young person’s journey to understanding their strengths and differences and to witness them beginning to understand themselves, their mental health and also to be understood by the people around them.
