Dr. Stephanie Ennis is a Clinical Psychologist who aims to offer a warm, safe non-judgemental space online where you will be comfortable to share your difficulties. She mostly works online on Monday evenings however there may be some flexibility in this.
Stephanie's training included working with adults and children with a wide range of difficulties including, anxiety disorders, depression, post traumatic stress disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder. She also gained experience of assessing for autism and ADHD.
Having a particular interest in weight management and body image, Stephanie completed her doctorate research investigating the role of self-compassion and stigma in these areas. Trained as a nutritionist, so able to offer nutritional advice alongside psychological therapy.
Stephanie has worked for Solent NHS Trust in the Child and Adolescent Mental health (CAMHS) service as part of the core mental health team and the neurodevelopmental team. Prior to this she worked in an adult mental health service and an adult weight management service.
She has worked with adults, children and adolescents with mood difficulties (e.g. depression), anger, low self-esteem, anxiety disorders (e.g. OCD, panic attacks, health anxiety, social phobia, general anxiety disorder), post traumatic stress disorder (including trauma following accidents) sleep difficulties and weight management difficulties.
Using an evidence-based approach Stephanie draws upon a variety of models depending on the individual need, for example: CBT, ACT, CFT and DBT. She works in a person-centred and holistic manner to ensure adaptability and flexibility to the needs of the individual.
Stephanie sees therapy as a collaborative experience in which you will work together to help address your psychological difficulty and move towards a calmer and more fulfilled life.
