Dr Leanne Morgan

Clinical Psychologist

Dr Leanne Morgan is a qualified Clinical Psychologist offering a warm, safe, and non-judgemental space either in person or online. Her therapy room for in person sessions is based in Basingstoke, Hampshire. Leanne completed her doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2023, her training included working with adults and children with a wide range of difficulties including, anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, post traumatic stress disorder, phobias, relational difficulties, and low self esteem.


Leanne has a particular interest and specialist expertise in working with military populations (actively serving and veterans) as well as compassion-focused therapy (CFT). She completed her doctorate research investigating the role of Compassion in Moral Injury among Military Veterans.


Since qualifying Dr Morgan has worked for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust working in a male and military (MoD) inpatient mental health unit as well as the Crisis Team (CRHT) and Community Mental Health Team (CMHT). Within her NHS work since qualifying, she has mostly worked with adult males experiencing psychosis (e.g. voices, delusions and paranoia), mood difficulties (e.g. depression), suicidal ideation, anger, low self-esteem, anxiety disorders (e.g. panic attacks), post traumatic stress disorder, grief, relationship difficulties, and stress.


In addition she has worked with female clients and couples within the community supporting them with attachment difficulties, personality disorders, and suicidal ideation. Leanne draws on the evidence-based within her work and mainly works within a compassion-focused therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy framework, also draws upon dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), systemic, and mindfulness based approaches to adapt and be flexible to the needs of her client.
