BSc (Hons), MSc

Speech and Language Therapist

India Moores is a registered Speech and Language Therapist with extensive experience working across the NHS, school settings and independent practice with children and young people. She holds an MSc in Speech and Language Sciences from University College London (UCL). Much of her work has been in preschool and mainstream education, supporting individuals with a wide range of communication needs.

India has a primary specialism in language disorders, including Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) and language differences associated with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). She has significant experience in assessment and differential diagnosis of DLD and is passionate about raising awareness of this common but often under-recognised condition. She has supported many children and young people to develop their communication skills through tailored, evidence-based intervention.

Alongside this, India has developed a secondary specialism in supporting autistic individuals with a Pathological Demand Avoidant (PDA) profile. Drawing on both her professional experience and lived experience as a parent of a PDA autistic child, she offers training and coaching to schools, families and professionals to help them better understand and support demand-avoidant children and young people.

India began her career as a speech and language therapist working across mainstream primary and secondary schools in London. She later progressed to a team lead role for Developmental Language Disorder within a large speech and language therapy team. After relocating to the Isle of Wight in 2022, India worked within the NHS supporting early years children with a wide range of communication needs. She established her independent practice, By The Bay Speech and Language Therapy, alongside this role, and since the end of 2024 has worked fully independently.

India takes a holistic, collaborative and evidence-based approach to her work. She works closely with families and educational settings to create communication-friendly environments, alongside direct therapy where appropriate. She is committed to ensuring that support is tailored to each individual, helping children and young people to become confident communicators and reach their full potential.

India is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and is a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT), and the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice (ASLTIP). She joined Questa’s multidisciplinary team of ASC specialists in 2025.
